Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET 2010)

is conducted by JNT University on behalf of APSCHE. This examination is the gateway for entry into various professional courses offered in Government/Private Colleges in Andhra Pradesh

1. Entrance Test:
1.1 A Common Entrance Test, designated as Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test – 2010 (EAMCET – 2010) of Andhra Pradesh will be conducted (as per G.O.Ms.No. 16 Edn.,(EC) Department Dt:25/2/2004 and its amendments) by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad for entry into the first year of the following professional courses offered for the academic year 2010-2011 in the State of Andhra Pradesh.
a)  B.E/B.Tech courses
b)  B.V.Sc and A.H/B.Sc(Ag)/B.Sc (Hort)/B.F.Sc/B.Tech
            (FS&T)/B.Sc (CA&BM) courses
c)  MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BNYS courses
        d)  B. Pharm/B.Tech (Bio-technology) and Pharm-D (Doctor of
             Pharmacy) courses
2.      EAMCET 2010 Eligibility
2.1   The minimum qualification to appear for EAMCET-2010 is
a)   A pass in Intermediate Examination or appearance at 2nd year Intermediate Examination (10 + 2 pattern) conducted by the A.P. Board of Intermediate Education, with appropriate optional subjects or its equivalent thereto.
b)   A pass at Diploma examination or appearance at final year Diploma Examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, A.P.  or its equivalent thereto.  Diploma candidates are eligible to apply for B.E/B.Tech/B.pharm courses only. Diploma in pharmacy are eligible to apply for Pharm-D course.
2.2  In case of such students who appear for the entrance Test, pending result of their qualifying examination, their entry shall be subject to their securing a pass in the said qualifying examination.



2.3  Candidates should belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh as defined in the A.P. Educational Institutions (regulations for admission) order 1974 and its amendments (vide G.O.P.No. 646 dt: 10-7-79 of Education (W) Department).
3.     Detailed information regarding eligibility, age, and syllabi etc., is given in the “Instruction Booklet”, supplied along with the application form.

4.     Requisition for the Application form:

    1. Candidates with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry as optional subjects in their Intermediate or its equivalent course should submit “E” category application for Engineering (B.E/B.Tech/B.Tech (Ag.Engg) /B.Tech (Dairying)/ B.Tech (FS&T) (MPC) /B.Sc (CA&BM) (MPC) and B. Pharm (MPC),Pharm-D((MPC) courses.
    2. Candidates with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects in their Intermediate or its equivalent course should submit “AM” category application for Agriculture (B.V.Sc., and A.H/B.Sc (Agr)/B.Sc (Hort)/B.F.Sc/B.Tech (FS&T) (Bi.P.C)/B.Sc (CA&BM) (Bi.P.C)/ Medical (MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BNYS) and B.Pharm/ B.Tech (Bio-Technology)/Pharm-D (Bi.P.C) courses.
    3. Eligible candidates who intend to seek admission to both the courses in 4.1 and 4.2 have to submit “E” and “AM” category applications.
    4. Application form together with the enclosures including the “Instruction Booklet” can be had in person (not by post) on payment of Rs. 250/- in cash (this amount covers the cost of application, fee for entrance test, and towards Service charges for Post offices) AT ALL THE HEAD POST OFFICES AND ALL e-SEVA CENTRES within the state of Andhra Pradesh till 15.4.2010.

5.  As per G.O.Ms.No 165 dated 06-09-2007and G.O.Ms.No 8 (Amendment to the GO.Ms. No 16) Higher Education Department, dated 27-01-2009, the candidates who have secured qualifying marks in EAMCET and candidates belonging to the category of Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe, for whom qualifying marks have not been prescribed, shall be assigned ranking in the order of merit on the basis of combined score obtained by giving 75% weightage to the marks secured in EAMCET and 25% weightage to the marks secured in the relevant group subjects namely Mathematics or Biology, Physics, Chemistry of the qualifying examination. However as per G.O Ms No. 181 dated 21.05.2008 of Health Medical and Family Welfare(E1) Department for admission into MBBS/BDS courses on the basis of Competitive  entrance examination, a candidate for admission   to those   courses  must  have obtained not less than 50% marks in physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together both at  qualifying and EAMCET examination.. In respect of candidates belonging to  SC/ST/BC  must have obtained not less than 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together both at qualifying and EAMCET examination 
6.   How to submit Filled in Application form:
EAMCET – 2010 application may be submitted online or offline.  For details refer to item VIII of “Instruction Booklet” for Engineering (E) and Agriculture and Medicine (AM) Categories of applications.

NOTE: For online submission a candidate has to purchase a DD  for Rs. 250/-  in favor of Secretary, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, payable at Hyderabad and enter the websitehttp://www.apeamcet.org  and submit the application. After  submission a registration number for future reference is generated. The candidate has to download and take printout of  filled in application and paste a colour photograph of size 3.5cmx4.5 cm at appropriate place in the application. 10.  The late fee and online submission application fee  must be in the form of Demand Draft on any nationalized bank payable at Hyderabad, in  favor of  Secretary, Andhra Pradesh  State Council of Higher Education.
11.  Filled in Application should be submitted to the Regional Coordinator in person as mentioned in the Instruction Booklet or to the Convener, EAMCET – 2010, SIT Building, Cellar portion, JNT University Hyderabad, Kukatpally, Hyderabad – 500 085 by Regd. Post.
12. In their own interest, candidates are advised to submit the application online or submit the filled in applications to the concerned regional co-ordinators in person only, or  send it  to the  convener, EAMCET – 2010 by regd post well in advance, of the last date prescribed for submission of applications without late fee to avoid delays.  Convener shall not be responsible for any postal delay or loss of application during transit.

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test-2010 or Karnataka CET 2010 for admission to Medical and Dental, Indian Systems of Medicine & Homoeopathy and Engineering Technology course will be held on 28th to 30th th April 2010 as per the following schedule

Karnataka CET 2010 - 28-04-2010 to 30-04-2010

ADMISSION TO PROFESSIONAL COURSES IN KARNATAKA FOR THE YEAR 2010-2011

1. Applications are invited from eligible candidates of Karnataka including the wards of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants for registration for the “Common Entrance Test-2010” for admissions to first year Medical / Dental/Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga / Engineering / Technology / Architecture courses for the seats to be notified by the Government in the Professional Educational Institutions in the state of Karnataka for the academic year 20010-11



2. A candidate must appear for the Common Entrance Test conducted by theKarnataka Examinations Authority, for PCB subjects in case of admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses and PCM subjects in case of admission to Engineering / Technology courses. For admission to Architecture course the candidate must appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture. 3. The merit will be determined in accordance with the provision of the “Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006”.

Karnataka CET 2010 Eligibility

Academic Eligibility
(a) For Medical / Dental courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in the PCB group and should secure a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in PCB group both in Qualifying Examination and Common Entrance Test.

(b) For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th std. or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB group irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in PCB group in the qualifying examination.
For admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the candidate should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st of December 2010.

(c) For Engineering / Technology courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects, irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

(d) For Architecture course, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th Std. or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory optional subject and obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in all the subjects in the qualifying examination (45% of marks in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes), and should compulsorily appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and get a minimum of 40% in it. (Including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes)

IMPORTANT NOTE:
1. A candidate who had obtained a seat in any discipline through the KEA (CET Cell) in any of the previous years will not be eligible to appear for the Common Entrance Test-2010 for selection of a seat in the same discipline. Such candidate will immediately orfeit the seat selected by him during the previous years, upon selection of a seat in a different discipline during the year.
2. The merit list of candidates for admission to Medical and Dental courses will be determined only on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in PCB subjects, taken together, in the Common Entrance Test. For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga / Engineering / Technology courses, the merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the respective optional subjects, in both qualifying examination and the Common Entrance Test taken in equal proportions. For Architecture course, the Merit list will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in both qualifying examination and NATA taken in equal proportions.

The Karnataka candidates residing outside Karnataka (Horanadu, Gadinadu and other Karnataka candidates i.e, who fulfills the eligibility conditions) who are studying or who have studied 12th standard or equivalent examination outside the State of Karnataka, within the te rritory of India, can procure the brochure cum application form by“SPEED POST”, by sending a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 25 cm x 30 cm along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 750/- drawn in favour of “The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore”, payable at Bangalore and a Karnataka candidate residing outside India can get the brochure cum application form by sending a demand draft for Rs. 5,000/-. The contents on the self-addressed envelope should be in English or Kannada language only. The cover in which the demand draft and self-addressed envelope are sent should be boldly super scribed with the words “REQUEST FOR CET-2010 BROCHURE” and should be sent to the following address of Executive Director by “Speed Post” ONLY. The KEA will not take responsibility for the envelopes sent through courier or given in person or through any other private arrangement and also for incomplete and insufficient address on the envelope.   6. Fill in the Fee Payment Challan in a clear and legible handwriting in BLOCK LETTERS.
  7. Go to the nearest Bank of Baroda Branch with the Fee payment Challan duly filled in and pay, in Cash, the appropriate Application Fee in Account No.29040200000169 with Bandra Kurla Complex Branch in favour of “Bank of Baroda Recruitment of Probationary Officers Project 2010”.   1. Obtain the Counterfoil (Applicant’s Copy) of the Fee Payment Challan duly received by the Bank with (a) Branch Name & Code Number, (b) Transaction ID, (c) Date of Deposit & amount filled by the Branch Official.
  2. Candidates are now ready to Apply On-Line by re-visiting the Recruitment page of the Bank’s website and going to the sublink titled “APPLY ONLINE for Recruitment of -1200- Probationary Officers”. Click on this sublink will open up the appropriate On-Line Application Format.
  3. Carefully fill in the necessary details from the Fee Payment Challan in the On-Line Application Form at the appropriate places and submit the same on line.
  4. Original counterfoil of the fee payment challan will have to be submitted with the Call Letter at the time of written test. Without counterfoil of the fee payment challan the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the written test. 3. EMOLUMENTS:
PAY: Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of one year. They will draw salary in the scale of Rs.10000-470/6-12820-500/3-14320-560/7-18240 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I. They will also be eligible for DA, HRA, & CCA as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly emoluments of Junior Management Grade Scale I Officers, including DA, HRA, CCA, are approximately Rs. 18000/- in a Metropolitan Centre. (The scale of pay is under revision.)

4. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND GENERAL INFORMATION:

A) QUALIFICATION: (AS ON 01.01.2010)

Degree in any discipline from a recognized University OR Any equivalent qualification recognized by Central Government. Should be computer literate (Proficient in MS-office, basic applications, internet usage.etc)
B) AGE: (As on 01.01.2010 ) Minimum: 21 Years, Maximum: 30 Years
RELAXATION IN UPPER AGE LIMIT :-

  1. Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates by 5 years.
  2. Other Backward Classes candidates by 3 years.
  3. In the case of ex-servicemen and commissioned officers including ECOs / SSCOs who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within the next one year from the last date for receipt of application) other than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military service or on being declared as invalid, by 5 years for selection through written test & interview and by 3 years plus period of service in Armed Forces for selection through interview only, subject to ceiling as per Govt. guidelines.
  4. All persons who have ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir Division of J & K State during 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989 by 5 years.
  5. For Persons With Disability by 10 years which by cumulation becomes (a) by 15 years for SC/ST (b) by 13 years for OBC and (c) by 10 years for General.

Note:

  • An ex-serviceman who has once joined a Government Job on the civil side after availing the benefits given to him as Ex-serviceman for his re-employment including a job in Public Sector Undertaking, ceases to enjoy Ex-serviceman status for his further employment.
  • The relaxation in upper age limit is cumulative as per the Government guidelines.
  • All persons eligible for age relaxation under para 3 B (iv) above must produce the domicile certificate at the time of interview from the District Magistrate in the Kashmir Division within whose jurisdiction he / she had ordinarily resided or any other authority designated in this regard by Government of J & K to the effect that the candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of J & K during 1st January, 1980 and the 31st December, 1989.

C) NATIONALITY/ CITIZENSHIP:

A candidate must be either i) a Citizen of India or ii) a subject of Nepal or iii) subject of Bhutan or iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination/ interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the Government of India has issued the necessary eligibility certificate to him.

D) PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES’:-

  1. Only those OH persons who have locomotor disability or cerebral palsy with locomotor impairment of minimum of 40% and only those who fall in the following categories are eligible to apply under OH Category::

BL – Both legs affected but not arms
OA – One arm affected (R or L) (a) Impaired reach;
(b) weakness of grip;
(c) ataxia
CL – One leg affected (R or L)
MW – Muscular weakness and limited physical endurance.

  1. Only those Visually handicapped persons who suffer from any one of the following conditions are eligible to apply under VH Category.
    1. Total absence of sight.
    2. Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses.
    3. Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle or 20 degrees or worse.
    4. Candidates having low vision as defined in Chapter 1, Para 2 (u) of The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, protections of rights and full participation) Act 1995.
  1. At the time of written examination, only blind / low vision candidates and those candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use own scribe/ writer at his / her own cost. In all such cases where a scribe / writer is used the following rules will apply:
    1. The candidate will have to arrange his / her own scribe / writer at his / her own cost.
    2. The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower than the stipulated eligibility criteria.
    3. Scribe / writer should be one possessing 60% or less marks.
    4. Scribe / writer can be from any academic discipline.
    5. Both the candidate as well as the scribe / writer will have to give a suitable undertaking, confirming that the scribe fulfills all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe as mentioned above. Further, in case it later transpires that he / she did not fulfill any of the laid-down eligibility criteria or suppressed material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the written test.

5. SELECTION PROCEDURE :-
Selection will be on the basis of performance in Written test and Interview. The details of Written Test and Interview are as under:

A) WRITTEN TEST: Eligible candidates will be required to appear for written test comprising (i) Objective Test on Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Socio-Economic & Banking Awareness, English and Marketing Aptitude.

Further details regarding the Written Test i.e. number of questions, duration etc, shall be advised along with the call letter.

The Bank reserves the right, if required to hold a second stage of written test on the basis of order of merit in the written examination of first stage, as referred above. If the second stage of written test is held, the subsequent process of interview and further process would be on the basis of order of merit of the second stage examination.

The written test will be held at the following centres and the address of the venue will be advised in the call letters. List of written test centers with the centre codes is given below :-

  1. Request for change of Centre of Examination shall NOT be entertained.

6. PRE-EXAMINATION TRAINING (FOR SC/ST/PWD/ MINORITY COMMUNITY CANDIDATES ONLY)
It is proposed to impart Pre-Examination Training to a limited number of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes/Person with Disability/Minority Communities at Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai Centres at the discretion of the Bank. An eligible candidate who wishes to avail of Pre-Examination Training should fill in the relevant column in the ONLINE APPLICATION. All expenses regarding travelling, boarding, lodging etc. will be borne by the candidate for attending the pre-examination training programme at the concerned Centres.

7. APPLICATION FEE (INCLUDING POSTAGE CHARGES) (NON-REFUNDABLE) :-

  1. For SC/ST/PWD candidates – Rs. 50/- (towards postage charges only).
  2. For all others – Rs.300/- (including postage charges of Rs.50/-).

8. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS :-

  • Candidates are required to apply only ‘ONLINE’. Any other form of application shall be rejected.
  • Before applying, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility and other norms mentioned in this advertisement. Decision of the Bank in all matters regarding eligibility of the candidate, the stages at which such scrutiny of eligibility is to be undertaken, the documents to be produced for the purpose of the conduct of examination, interview, selection and any other matter relating to recruitment will be final and binding on the candidate. No correspondence or personal enquiries will be entertained by the bank in this behalf.
  1. In case, it is detected at any stage of recruitment that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms and/or that he/she has furnished any incorrect/false information/certificate/documents or has suppressed any material fact(s), his/her candidature will stand cancelled. If any of these shortcoming/s is/are detected even after appointment, his/her services are liable to be terminated.
  2. Self attested photocopy of the Graduation degree / Marksheet indicating ‘Pass’ and other educational testimonials should be kept ready for submission at the time of Interview.. In addition, candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD category are required to submit an attested copy of their Caste Certificate/Certificate of Disability issued by the Competent Authority as specified in Para 4E (a) & (b) at the time of Interview. However, all candidates will have to produce original as well as self attested photocopies of certificates regarding qualification, experience, date of birth and caste (if applicable), in support of their eligibility at the time of interview, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
  3. In case of candidates belonging to OBC category, the certificate inter-alia must specify that the candidate does not belong to ‘CREAMY LAYER’ section. Candidates belonging to Creamy Layer will be excluded from the benefits of reservations for OBCs in Civil Post and Services under Govt. of India. OBC certificate should not be more than one year old as on the date of application. Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming in the “CREAMY LAYER”, are not entitled to OBC reservation and age relaxation. Such candidates should indicate their category as ‘GEN’ or ‘GEN (OH)’ or ‘GEN (VH)’, as the case may be.
  4. The candidates will have to appear for the Written Test and interview at their own expense. However, eligible SC/ST/PWD outstation candidates attending the Interview will be reimbursed to and fro second-class ordinary train/bus fare by the shortest route on production of evidence of travel.
  5. Candidates must be willing to serve anywhere in India. Nevertheless, Candidates may indicate -3- states in order of preference for posting. While Bank will endeavor to post the selected Candidate in the states of preferences, the Candidate should note that they are liable to be posted anywhere in India depending on Bank’s needs, but not necessarily in preferred states.
  6. Any resultant dispute arising out of this advertisement shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the Courts situated at Mumbai.
  7. The Bank takes no responsibility to connect any Certificate/Remittance sent separately.
  8. Any request for change of address will not be entertained.
  9. In case any dispute arises on account of interpretation of version other than English, English version will prevail and the version displayed on website shall be final.

  14. Admission to written examination and further process of selection will be purely provisional without verification of age/qualification/category (SC/ST/PWD) etc. of the candidates with reference to documents.
  15. Candidates uploading more than one application for any reason will be treated as ineligible.
  16. As the applications are to be processed by a Computerised System, it is essential that the application is completely filled on-line.

  18. Action to be taken against candidates found guilty of misconduct :-

Candidates are advised in their own interest that they should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered, fabricated or should not suppress any material information while filling up the ‘Online’ application.

At the time of written examination/interview, if a candidate is (or has been) found guilty of,

    1. Using unfair means during the examination & OR
    2. Impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person OR
    3. Misbehaving in the examination hall or taking away the question booklet/answer sheet from the examination hall OR
    4. Resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his/her candidature by selection
    5. Obtaining support for his/her candidature by any means.

    Such a candidate, in addition to rendering himself/herself liable to criminal prosecution, shall be liable :

    1. to be disqualified from the examination for which he/she is a candidate
    2. to be debarred, either permanently or for a specified period, from any examination or recruitment conducted by Bank.

The Bank would be analyzing the responses of a candidate with other appeared candidates to detect patterns of similarity. If as per the laid down procedure it is suspected that the responses have been shared and the scores obtained are not genuine/valid, the Bank reserves the right to cancel his/ her candidature.

9. CALL LETTERS FOR THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION:-

The date of the Written Examination is TENTATIVELY FIXED as 30.05.2010. However, it will be intimated in the Call Letter along with the Centre/Venue for the Examination, well in advance of the date of the Written Examination.

Call Letters for the Written Test will be sent by ORDINARY POST to the eligible candidates to the address given in the online application. An eligible candidate who does not receive the call letter by 22.05.2010 should contact the Offices at the address of the respective centres (details of which will be released in Bank’s website on 22.05.2010) between 24.05.2010 to 29.05.2010, furnishing his/her Name, Address, Registration Number & production of payment challan or download from Bank’s website.

ANDHRA UNIVERSITY REGION POST GRADUATE COMMON ENTRANCE TEST - 2010 (AURPGCET - 2010)

1. Directorate of Admissions, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam invites applications for admission through Andhra Region Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (AURPGCET)-2010 into various Science and Arts courses offered in Campus Colleges of Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU), Guntur, Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU), Rajahmundry, Andhra University (AU), Visakhapatnam, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University (BRAU), Srikakulam and Krishna University (KU), Machilipatnam; P.G Centres, and Colleges affiliated to
ANU. and AU offering P.G. Courses for the academic year 2010-2011.


2. Candidates seeking admission into various courses of study for which tests are conducted (See Appendix– I) should appear for AURPGCET-2010.


3. Candidates who have already passed their qualifying examination or who have appeared / are appearing for the annual examination in 2010 only are eligible for AURPGCET-2010. Supplementary candidates of 2010 are not eligible.

4. Eligibility criteria for different courses and the syllabi for the different Tests to be conducted are given in Appendices-I & II.
* Candidates from other recognised universities are considered for admission into PG Arts and Science courses only if they possess a three year Bachelor Degree of 10+2+3 or 12+3 or 11+1+3 pattern, with the prescribed minimum percentage of marks, unless otherwise  specified. Bachelor Degree candidates from distance education without 10+2+3 pattern are also eligible for admission into P.G. Courses offered in ANU & KU.


* Eligibility criteria for admission into various PG Arts and Science courses is with reference to the Common Core Scheme offered by the respective universities. Where group subjects (part-II) of degrees of other Universities do not have subjects of equal weightage, the subject enjoying the highest weightage shall be considered as the main, for the purpose of deciding the eligibility. Batchelor degrees of B.A./ B.Sc./B.Com./B.A.Litt. and B.L. from universities other than AP should be recognised by the respective university as equivalent thereto.


5. The requirement for admission into all Science Courses offered by these universities is a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Group Subjects (Part II) of the qualifying examination unless or otherwise specified. For SC and ST candidates, a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in group subjects (Part II) is sufficient.


6. The requirement for Arts and Commerce courses is generally a pass in the appropriate qualifying examination, except in the case of admission into M.A./M.Sc. Quantitative Economics; M.Sc. Anthropology and 5 year Integrated MS Economics courses, for which, the requirement is a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in group subjects (Part-II) in the qualifying examination (B.Sc/ 10+2 or 11+1.) and for SC& ST candidates, a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in the group subjects (Part-II) is required.

7. ALLOWING A CANDIDATE FOR AURPGCET-2010 DOES NOT GUARANTEE A RIGHT OF ADMISSION INTO THE COURSE OF STUDY. A candidate must satisfy the eligibility criteria as given in Appendix-I.
Candidates allowed to take the entrance test and subsequently getting seats by furnishing false informationare liable for prosecution and cancellation of seats without notice. The decision of the admitting authority is final.


8. Candidates are advised to go through the information brochure carefully and claim admission under appropriate categories of reservation by filling in the relevant boxes with appropriate code numbers in both Computer Data Sheet and Application form. Requests for inclusion or change of test, test centre and / or reservation category(ies) once claimed will not be entertained for change under any circumstances. The applications will be processed as per the claims of the candidates only and the admissions will be subject to the validity of their claims.


9. Candidates who have already completed one P.G. course or one Professional Degree course and who are now seeking admission into second P.G. or professional course respectively will not be provided hostel accommodation and will not be considered for any type of scholarship whatsoever, as per G.O.s. in force.

10. Candidates who have already studied / are studying a P.G. course are not eligible to write the test leading to admission into the same course. Such candidates are liable for disciplinary action.

11. The concerned university reserves the right to fill or not to fill the seats earmarked for a particular course on administrative reasons. All admissions are purely provisional and the concerned university reserves the right to cancel the admission at any stage. Further it also reserves the right to run or not to run a particular course depending on the number of candidates joined in it. A minimum of 10 candidates should join in any course under Self Finance or Payment streams to run it.

12. MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION IN ALL P.G. COURSES EXCEPT LANGUAGES OFFERED WILL BE IN ENGLISH. HENCE THE CANDIDATES SHALL WRITE THEIR EXAMINATIONS IN ENGLISH ONLY.

13. All disputes pertaining to AURPGCET-2010 shall fall within the courts jurisdiction of Visakhapatnam only.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS
Duly filled-in application forms (placed in the envelope supplied) may be submitted along with relevant documents by paying postal charges through the Head Post Offices to The Convener, ICET-2010, Andhra University College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam – 530 003 (A.P.) India on or before 05-04-2010 upto 5.00 p.m. The application forms may also be submitted on or before
? 19-04-2010 upto 5.00 p.m. along with a late fee of Rs.500/-
? 24-04-2010 upto 5.00 p.m. along with a late fee of Rs.2000/-
in the form of DD drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of The Secretary, APSCHE, payable at Hyderabad. Application forms received after the specified date and time and incomplete application forms will be summarily rejected.

However, a copy of the application downloaded along with passport size photograph and D.D. for Rs. 250/- drawn in favour of "The Secretary, APSCHE", payable at Hyderabad is to be sent to the Convener, ICET-2010.
